POS APP – Menu – Settings – General Settings
  • Language : The default for AU is English (Australia). Changing this will affect the way the user interface displays text and value.
  • Full Screen : Select to put the POS APP into Full Screen Mode.
  • Categories Per Page : These are the Menu Categories that appear across the top of your ORDER. Select an option that works for you.
  • Items Per Page : Once you select a Menu Category, this is the number of Menu Items to be displayed. Choose a number that looks good on your POS.
  • Modifiers Per Page : These could be Related Modifiers or Common Modifiers.
  • Enable Menu Groups : This will allow you display your “top level” Menu Categories in a separate screen control. Once selected, the “sub categories” will be shown as menu categories.
  • Groups Per Page : The number of Menu Groups to show per page if the above option is enabled.
  • Allow Quick Service : To display the QSR icon on your ORDERS screen.
  • Allow Dine In : To display the DINE-IN icon, Tables List TAB & the Floorplans TAB on your ORDERS screen .
  • Allow Delivery : To display the DELIVERY icon on your ORDERS screen.
  • Allow Reservation : Enable this option so that this POS can manage Reservations.
  • Specify Dine In or Take Out on QSR Order : Will prompt you to select one or the other at CHECKOUT.
  • Allow Card Payment Without Pinpad : Turn this on to use Tyro Integrated EFTPOS. Contact us directly for the best deal 🙂
  • Hot Cash Buttons : Enable and define default amounts to appear on your CHECKOUT screen.
  • Multi Store Support : In multiple store mode, on the ORDER screen you can select a store that will process the ORDER. This mode is used when you receive an order through a Call Center. NOTE : You cannot enable DINE-IN and MULTI-STORE at the same time.
  • Default Country Code : Set this to the countries default dialing prefix.
  • Close Order After Payment : The POS APP will set the ORDER status to CLOSED once payment is finalised.
  • Auto Start of Order After Payment : Where production printers or bump stations are used, the ORDER is sent to them to be actioned.
  • Close Order After Payment and Open New Order : Commonly used in QSR mode. Can make processing very fast when used with Auto Start option.
  • Allow Start Delivery After Assign Driver : Badly worded but means “Automatically Set ORDER STATUS to IN DELIVERY when assigned to a Delivery Driver”.
  • Allow Tax Exempt : Do not enable. Applicable Tax Rate is set in BOM against the ITEM.
  • Allow Tip : Enable the tipping dialogue at CHECKOUT.
  • Show Common  Modifiers When Choosing Item : Enable so that any COMMON MODIFIERS that have been assigned to an ITEM get shown on the POS APP.
  • Show Common Modifiers in One Group : an ITEM can have more than one COMMON MODIFIER GROUP assigned. To speed up ORDER processing you can choose to display them all at once.
  • Allow Edit Confirmed Orders : Enable so that you can add / remove / change ITEMS in an OPEN ORDER.
  • Enable Courses : Each ITEM can have a COURSE LEVEL defined. Checking this box will separate the ITEMS in the ORDER by this level. You will also then be able to change the default COURSE LEVEL in the OPEN ORDER.
  • Set the Number of Guests When Choosing a Table : aka PATRONS or COVERS.
  • Confirm Actions for DINE-IN ORDER if the Table is Not Selected :
  • Hide Button for Create Orders in Floor Plan Mode : Will remove the buttons ( if enabled ) for DINE-IN, DELIVERY and QSR when viewing the Floorplans TAB.
  • Open Cash Drawer When Paying by Card : if you stick your EFTPOS Merchant Receipts on a spike, turn this off.
  • Enable Order Creation and Payment Locally on POS APP ( Offline Support ) : Your POS APP can handle poor internet connections. But when it is really bad, you will get some performance issues. Our support team will sometimes ask you to turn this on – depending on your business structure and integrations. A proper understanding of Offline Mode is required BEFORE enabling this option.
  • Don’t Show Pop Up Offering Enabling Offline Mode : If your internet connection is often flaky but quickly recovers, toggling this box will stop the nags.
  • Make This Device as Local Server : Please read Local Server.
  • Use Local Server : Please read Local Server.
  • Ask Passport in Case of ITEMS 18+ : In your BOM you can make an ITEM require verification of age by the CSR. It says “passport” but is just a way to nudge your CSR into checking.
  • Show SKU : Where an ITEM has a SKU attached, this can be shown on the ORDER screen.
  • Show Orders Only Current User : The ORDERS screen will be filtered to show only the ORDERS created by the logged in CSR.
  • Show Virtual Keyboard Button : Where your O/S doesn’t automatically pop up a keyboard on a data entry field, this toggle will let you select the On Screen Keyboard.
  • Barcode Format : This is currently configurable for “weight encoded” labels. Soon I will have “price encoded” for use with label printing scales.
  • Enable Tare Mode in the Weight Measurement Dialogue : Enable when you use integrated weighing scales that are NMI Approved.
  • Tare Weight (GR) : NMI inspectors generally do not like manually entered tares when using integrated weighing scales. Set one here that is always in favour of your customer based on the weight of the bag the customer will put your weighted ITEMS into. ( 4-7 grams as a rule of thumb. heavier if you sell yoghurt in a cup ).
  • Maps Provider : Google.
  • Region for Search on Map : Australia.
  • Enable Extended Log : Please do not enable unless asked to do so by your support team. These can make the logs very big as “everything” gets logged and is used for in depth trouble shooting if required.
