Uber AU Integration

Overview

I am all for doing something once, doing it myself and not having to pay / rely on an external 3rd party to exactly replicate my work.

I like to keep my work space neat, removing as much clutter from the front counter as possible.

Being able to view all of my ORDERS in a single interface without having to do additional data entry, is also high on my list of must haves.

If I want to run a special to get rid of close to code stock, it needs to happen straight away, without having to line up multiple channels to the same schedule.

Integrating into other delivery platforms is therefore a no brainer 🙂

Getting Ready for Integration

A lot of the steps from MOB / WEB / eSHOP apply to Uber AU.

You need to think about the Uber workflow and how you want the customer experience to be managed. More on this will appear in the Knowledge Base. This can take a bit of lateral thinking to get it right – so please use us as your guides.

Images & Descriptions

One thing to remember is that your staff are not there to tell the Uber user how wonderful your products are.

This means you need to have delicious pictures and tantalising descriptions about every CATEGORY, ITEM and MODIFIER that is set as “Uber Enabled”.

*See note below about image size and resolution requirement for uber.

( A word of advice, do not use google images that you are not 100% certain are in the public domain. The last thing you want is to get into a copyright battle ).

Categories List

  • Upload a CATEGORY image for each CATEGORY that is going to be available on Uber.
  • Make sure the CATEGORY is set to Active.
  • Make sure it is Uber Enabled.
  • Confirm it is available for the correct Stores.

Items List

  • Upload a spectacular image for each ITEM that is in an Uber enabled CATEGORY
  • Add a Description to each ITEM – your description has to replace what your staff would normally do to sell your fantastic products
  • Make sure the ITEM is Active
  • Confirm it is enabled for the correct Stores
  • Need to use RELATED MODIFIERS to make sure the ITEM is ordered correctly ? Or maybe you want to do UPSELLS or ADDONS ? See Knowledge Base for more information.

Disable a single ITEM from UBER

  • Sometimes you have a CATEGORY with a lot of ITEMS in it, where only one or two are ITEMS not available on Uber
  • Cheat !
  • Tag the ITEM/s as “tobacco products” and they will not be published to Uber

Image Requirements

  • Uber will only accept images meeting the following :
    • File size < 8Mb
    • JPG or PNG format
    • Minimum of 320px * 320px
    • Maximum of 1140px * 1144px

Price List

  • Just like Takeaway pricing, Uber pricing is usually different to Dine In
  • Follow this KB Article to create and update a PRICE LIST just for Uber.

Promotion

  • Just like Takeaway pricing, Uber pricing is usually different to Dine In
  • Follow this KB Article to create a PROMOTION to use the above Uber price list.

Service Type Hours

  • Although Uber is treated as a TAKEAWAY ORDER, the integration will use DELIVERY HOURS ( If these are not set, your BOM will push TAKEAWAY HOURS to Uber )
  • Follow this KB Article to update your DELIVERY SERVICE TYPE HOURS for Uber.

Locate Your Uber Restaurant ID

You can usually find this in your UberEats console

It will look something like this :

Please forward this Id to support@oscarpos.com.au requesting we integrate it with your OscarPOS Cloud tenant.

Please note that this can take up to a week to happen and nothing further can happen until then.
